Display videos on a page on your website
If you want to upload videos to your website, there are two ways: Upload to a third party video hosting service, or upload the file directly onto your website.

It’s usually best to upload your videos to sites like YouTube and Vimeo. These sites are set up to load videos very quickly, and they offer more controls for users to share your content. It may also help with your ranking in search engines (especially Google, if you upload videos to YouTube). Keep in mind that your videos will be publicly accessible unless you change the privacy settings.

If your videos are fairly short (e.g. 20-30 seconds), and you only have a few of them, then you may prefer to upload them directly to your website. Even so, YouTube is usually the better option and worth spending a little extra time.

Both of these options are outlined below. Note that these steps are based on the Enfold theme being in use. If your website doesn’t use this theme, you can simply copy and paste the YouTube links into your page content and WordPress will embed the videos automatically.

Option 1: Store files on YouTube

1. Upload Videos

Here’s how to upload your videos to YouTube:

  1. If you don’t already have one, create a YouTube account.
  2. Create a Channel on YouTube.
  3. Upload videos to your Channel.
  4. (Optional) Stop ads from showing during playback

2. Embed Videos

Here’s how to embed those videos on a page on your website:

  1. Log into your website.
  2. Go to Pages > All Pages, and edit the page where you’d like the videos to appear.
  3. In the editor toolbar at the top of the page, click on the “Media Elements” tab.
  4. Drag the “Video” element to wherever you’d like it to appear on the page.
  5. Click on that new video element to edit the settings.
  6. Copy the link to your video.
  7. Paste the link to the video into the field at the top of the page, and click “Save”.
  8. Repeat steps 4 to 6 for any other videos.

Option 2: Store files on your website

1. Upload Videos

First, you need to upload the video files to your website:

  1. Log into your website.
  2. Go to Media > Add New, and upload all of the video files.

2. Embed Videos

Now you can embed those videos on a page on your website:

  1. Go to Pages > All Pages, and edit the page where you’d like the videos to appear.
  2. In the editor toolbar at the top of the page, click on the “Media Elements” tab.
  3. Drag the “Video” element to wherever you’d like it to appear on the page.
  4. Click on that new video element to edit the settings.
  5. Click on the “Insert Video” button and select the video from the Media Library, then click “Insert” and “Save”.
  6. Repeat steps 5 to 7 for any other videos.
